Fulbright Summer Chamber Music Festival

The KUAF/Fulbright Summer Chamber Music Festival is a series of six concerts starting May 17 and continuing until June 20. The May 17 concert will be held at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and the June 6 concert will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Fayetteville. All other concerts will be held at the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall in the Fine Arts Center on the University of Arkansas campus.

The KUAF/Fulbright Summer Chamber Music Festival will open its fifth season with a special concert in the Great Hall at Crystal Bridges. The program will consist of works written by composers of the Americas, or by composers influenced by American music or culture, and will feature the "American" String Quartet by Antonín Dvořák (1841-1904), the Czech composer who wrote the quartet while he was director of the National Conservatory of Music in New York City. This famous quartet is full of beautiful American-influenced melodies. Other composers whose music will be heard include Samuel Barber and Alberto Ginastera. The concert will be followed by a reception.
